Edes P. Gilbert is the former Head of Mary Institute (MO) and The Spence School (NY) and served as Acting President of Independent Educational Services (IES). She is the Past President of The Country Day School Headmasters Association, The National Association of Principals of Schools for Girls, and the Headmasters Association. She was a 13-year member of the Board of TIAA-CREF, served for three years as President of the Board at Lesley University (MA), and was President of the New York State Association of Independent Schools. She is a member of the “Teach For America” Advisory Board in New York City and has worked extensively with schools all over the U.S. on issues of leadership including board retreats and planning, and is now concentrating on consulting for Strategic Planning and governance issues. Ms Gilbert is a member of the Development Committee of the Board of Maine Public Broadcasting Network.
